I'm going to be ordering a ton of buttons/joysticks soon so I was wondering if anyone had experience.
First and most important, do they offer true Happs products?
Second is uh....whatever experience you have plz lmk

If you're going to be building rather than buying, you would do much better with www.therealbobroberts.com or the gumby something guy on E-bay than slikstik. (Based on what I have heard from others . . . )

I've ordered from slikstik but my order was limited to buying the tornado spinner. The spinner exceeded my expectations, was packaged very well and shipped very quickly. Well worth the money in my opinion. So I can't coment on their other products but if they are anything like the spinner they should be great. If you are building I'd look at other sources for parts, unless of course you are upgrading to the stainless steel handles and all that ;)

subzero23,
Just incase you don

That's pretty cool, you can even get the supers in multiple colors. For the most part the prices are cheaper then directly from happ. Trackball is still cheaper through Happ - but that could be negated whith the seperate shipping cost through them. The other negative I could see about ordering all your parts from slikstik is the lack of a good 4-way. Happ has the MS pac man stick which is very nice, a little short handle for a wood panel though.

Ive ordered parts from slikstik and it was a painless experience.I would check out tornado terry on ebay for buttons and parts as well.He was a pleasure to deal with.

I ordered from Terry Bell of eBay = tornadoterrysdot, e-mail "tershan@1scom.net".
Excellent / fast service plus CHEAP ;D
You can look him up at eBay and see what he got.
He has the typical Happ joysticks, buttons, trackballs.
Again, I highly recommend him. If you do a search on this forum,
you'll see that others also recommend him.

Ok thanks everyone
Slikstik- it seems as if you can choose colored Supers, is this an error?

Matt Berry,
Just wanted to mention that our trackballs (Happ Trans-Blue/Red PS2/USB trackballs) are currently being sold at the cheapest prices on the web and are not cheaper directly from Happ.
Direct from Happ = $154.95ea
Direct from SlikStik = $109.00ea
Subzero23,
Actually the Happ supers are only available in black, if you click on the "more info" link it is specified there as such.

I just placed all my orders for a couple of xmas bartop projects.
I chose Terry Bell of eBay (tornadoterrysdot) for Happs buttons and joys based on feedback, ease of order, ship savings, and the fact that he is in my area so time to deliver should be speedy quick.
To this I've added the new versa ball sticks from Groovygamegear.com and gonna give the new KeyWhiz Eco2 a shot for keyboard encoders.
I'm looking forward to getting these projects into the finishing stage.
YMMV.

Personally, I found that the Tornado spinner certainly spins smoothly, but is incorrectly advertised as working with DOS. All my future spinners will be coming from Oscar Controls.

After I made my post about Happ trackball being cheaper, I realized that the ones from slikstik were already ready to plug directly into the computer via USB without any further interface requirements. Which in that aspect does make it cheaper then the Happ trackballs, but if you already have an opti pac or another method to atatch the trackball to the computer it is then cheaper to buy the trackball directly from happ which still can be had for 68.55 if ordered online (golden T - 2% online order). This also leads me to my only complaint about some slikstik products, instead of giving you a choice on interfacing the Tornado spinner, or happ trackball, the choice has already been made for you. Which is ok, no need for an opti pac, but now you have a lot more cables running to your computer then necessary. I just wish they gave you the choice. I still would highly recommend the tornado spinner.

We have tested a Tornado spinner in DOS and did have it working 100% but in your case and a few others who still use DOS for there arcade operating system, there have been instances of failure or non DOS compatibility.
Well, I tried it on two separate motherboards with two separate versions of DOS on each (DOS 7.0 and FreeDOS), and just about every DOS mouse driver under the sun, including 3 versions of CuteMouse (your recommended driver), and had the same basic problem each time. I asked on your messageboard (once) and via email (twice) which version of CuteMouse you recommended, but never had that question answered.
We sent you an email and offered you a full refund but no reply was sent.
That's true. Like I said, I like how your spinner mechanically works (that thing must defy some law of physics, as it spins seemingly forever), but don't like your encoder board, so instead I opted to get an Oscar Controls encoder board and mouse hack and pass your optics along to a Windows user. In between the time I sent my last plea for help and your offer of a refund, I was able to order the encoder board, have it shipped to me, and install it.
Oh well. It doesn't matter anymore, as I now have a spinner that spins great and works in DOS... it just required a little outside help.
