Title: T-molding alternative

Ok...I have no access to a router,  so t-molding is out.  But I don't want to leave my cab with an unfinished look.  I've heard that some other type of molding exists that just tacs into place.  Anyone have any ideas on an alternative.  I don't want my cab to look unfinished.  Thanks in advance.

YEAH...it was me.i got the tacks stuff.

I am too lazy to route ;D

Go to ACE hardware and ask for batten stripes.They are very cheap(6 feet=$2).

Sweet...does this stuff look just like t-molding?  My local Ace Hardware better have it!  Know of any place on the net to order it?

It looks okay..

Same as t-molding except you see the tacks.I dont know any place thats sells em online.

Ok...I went to my 2 local ace hardwares and nothing.  They didn't even know of a local store that would carry anything.  I've got a few more places to check...maybe i'll have to buy a rounter.  :'(

Unless you know someone with a router:)  I happen to hav e dremel, I just rounded my edges.

I had some problems with knott-holes on certain parts of my cab.... what I did was get regular t-modling and cut the center tongue off.... then you can tack it in place...  it works great but you can see the tacks...

Luckily I have chrome t-molding and i used nickel plated finish tacks, so you can hardly see them.

I used a Dremel with a cutting wheel to make the slot, but I only had to T-mold one side of a control panel.  If you have a steady hand, though, it should work...

I used dremel tool too... they come with a thing you put on top that you can set your "gap".....

I used that... go slow... it worked... (although some places the gap is a little wider than it should be....) but the melt glue gun helped on that... heee hee....

so... if you have the dremel tool and that carbide cutting wheel... its still do-able.....

ps: try not to inhale too much dust when you're doing it....  ;)  ;)
