Title: 3" color LCD monitor - $53
Post by: johnnysmitch on November 17, 2004, 10:06:46 am
Just thought I'd pass this deal along - seems like it would be sweet to incorporate into a CP for displaying controls, artwork, etc...  http://bensbargains.net/cgi-bin/gp.cgi?213GL-30NP-N

cheers!

Wow those PS1 screens were going for under $30 when KBToys.com closed them out.  I think I got mine about 6 months ago.  I never found a good use for it so maybe it's time to find all the pieces and let someone else have it.

Right now it's in pieces.  Give me a couple days to track it all down and make sure it works and I'll get back to you.  Sorry but I won't take more than the $30 I paid for it :)

Uh, how would you communicate with that?  Do you have the specs for that ps1 LCD controller?

It'll take a composite signal, svideo, or RGB. I'm thinking about adding it to the front of my comp. case to display what current mp3's are  playing with videos.

Ah, so you'd feed it a regular video signal.  To use that as a secondary screen in a MAME cab, then... how would you do that?

I was talking about using as a secondary monitor slapped to the front of my desktop computer case. But if you want to use it on your mame cab, then you need a dual monitor video card, or 2 video cards, and a frontend that can handle outputtting to 2 screens.

Or, you could use a separate application that this multi-monitor aware to display information to the second screen, and talk to the frontend through some interprocess "pipe"

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'd thought... thanks for the info!
