Iv'e read that some video cards can be choppy when useing svid out. Was just wondering if anyone has an opinion on which card does the best job for tv output.

Older ATI's are fantastic for their GREAT tv outs. They can be had for around $30.

Thanks for the response, I had read that thread, but was wondering about maby a newer card so it would handle some newer games like tiger wood. My main concern was what I read in a thread a couple of weeks ago that mentioned a problem with choppiness caused by certain card in svid mode. I believe he was running a gforce card. Wondering if this is specific to certain manufacturers or a universal problem with nvidia vs ati architecture cards.

a GForce? Yeah...well, the GForce isn't really a BAD card...it's just ATI's video out is ten times more solid.

Not really.
Trouble with GeForce is they don't sell cards... only chips... there are like 20 companies selling Geforce cards. Each one uses a different TV out chip. So some are GREAT and some suck the big one.
"Built by ATI" all have GREAT tv-out. As good as the best Geforce.
"Powered by ATI" have the same troubles at Geforce.. (Sapphire builds all ATI cards for them... and they are thought to use the same chips... I have one with GREAT output)
So its more that you know what you are getting with ATI

The thread I linked to gave information on the "powered by" and "made by" ATI's.
Every GForce I've messed with has been subpar, but I didn't know that they sold chipsets, so this would explain it.

thanks for the info, i think that answers my question well enough so i can go buy a card.
