Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem. I've downloaded a few of the .rar files from screenshotarchive.com (which is an awesome resource!) and some of these seem to be corrupt.
The two that come to mind are the SNES snapshots and the Atari Lynx cartscans. The files I have are definately the correct size so it wasn't a case of the download being interupted. The SNES was a real heartbreaker after a 30MB+ download over dialup :-[
When I open the files in winrar, I get a message saying the file is corrupt and only the first few scans are available.
Any ideas before I send an email of to Stuzza?

try to redownload a couple of times at least and see if the .rar files you have are EXACTLY the same size - if they are not it could be a problem with the connection being dropped, not the files. If they are all the same size it could be they are wrong on the server.....

I had tried downloading a couple of times (the smaller files). They were always the same size and had the same problem.
This morning I tried the SNES screenshots and it opens fine. Go figure.

I've just checked the files and they all seem to be fine. What version of Winrar are you using? I think some older versions may have had issues with certain files. Perhaps try updating your Winrar. Let me know if you still have problems.

I am having the same problem with those exact same rars using latest version of winace.

I tried to re-download a couple of the files on the same computer and using the same version of winrar and they have worked! They are the same file size as the files that I'm told are corrupt. ???
Paige - if you like I can email you the .rar files that have opened OK. Maybe you'll have more luck with them. Otherwise its worth trying to re-download - seemed to work for me.
Stuzza - thanks for making all these pics available to everyone. Mamewah just wouldn't be the same without them...

I'm wondering if this is a cache/temporary internet files issue.
I've had this happen before. You're download a file, the connection quits before it's done.. the file saves to your disk.. It's "corrupt". Now every time you download the same file, you get the same file size, and it's always "corrupt". The reason for this is that you're not actually redownloading the file, you're getting the file back from the "temporary internet files" directory.
Deleting all offline files through the tools -> internet options menu can solve this, if it's actually the issue.
If when you re-download the files, it actually goes through the download process and isn't near instantaneous, this probably isn't the issue.
