Post by: RayB on November 16, 2004, 10:17:23 am
Where is the best price on an ATI 9800 Pro? (or XT)

Or does someone here have one for sale?

www.newegg.com is usually good.  They also have free shipping.

A quick pricewatch search brought that up.  They have a very good resellerrating also.  NewEgg has a bunch of 9800pro cards under 200 bux, but most are out of stock.

I would search Pricewatch and check ratings like I did, you can find pretty decent deals on the cards.

Just a bit of advice. Don't buy the sapphire brand. It's cheap, but scaled down and performs poorly in benchmark tests. Why spend all that money and be disappointed.

I bought a used ATI brand 9800 pro off of Ebay about 6 months ago for less than $200 and it's served me real well.

there is a $20 rebate on ATI cards going.  Got a little card in my Half life 2 box about it.

That is so utterly wrong, it is comical.

Sapphire PRODUCES the cards for Ati that they brand as Built by Ati, which are always considered the best available.  I suppose they make those, and then make cheap ones for themselves???

Sapphire and Built by Ati are the ONLY Ati cards I ever recommend.  I've owned probably 10 or so Ati/Sapphire cards, and never had a single problem.

So I hate to break it to ya tigger, but that Ati card  you have.... it's a Sapphire ;)
