what's yours? mine is 37,600
-
About 280,000, I don't recall the exact score as it wasn't at home, it was on the Ms. Pac at City Museum in st. louis.
-
i hate how Ms Pac doesnt save initials. I could go set the high score on like 5 machines on the boardwalk but theres no fun in that since no one knows who did it
-
i have upped mine to 39,400. paigeoliver, i might match you... in twenty years ;)
-
175,000 something.
I got bored and quit.

Dave Widel came up with this feature, you can save your NAME/Initials to Pac/Ms.Pac but I don't think its supported by MAME cause its a HACk.

I AM playing speed up, are you?
I actually got good at Ms. Pac by playing Pac-Man. I run a speed up pattern that I invented that clears just over half the board, and works from the apple stage up (and works on the first 4 boards with a slight modification). Using that pattern means I have some tricky freestyling to do on those upper levels where the ghosts don't turn blue.
Anyway, I had been playing that way a long time, and when I switched over to ms pac I was A LOT BETTER at it then I used to be.
-
patterns are cheese, ive gotten around 50k with no patterns
-
Well patterns don't work on Ms. Pac and I still always break 100K on it. ;D
-
On the speed up PacMan I figured out a pattern and got over 1 million before I quit. On Ms PacMan, I play the bootleg hack that saves names. I would have to fire up the arcade machine to see what the high score is though. But that would also be on the speed up hack.

alright, maybe dumb question, but i'm young, so: what do you mean by speedup? using the cheat?

Are your initials that well known "on the boardwalk"? ;)
-
if i ever finish my 4/8 way switch idea, ill play the pac family. until then, it's just too frustrating...

well actually kinda =p I used to be hardcore DDR and my name is still on most of the top lists on like 7 or 8 machines on the boardwalk lol.

Without speedup I've got about 40,000. With speed up I've got about 120,000.
Nefesis,
There is a cheat which alot of arcades used back in the day that sped up Mrs Pacman. The Mrs Pacman/Galaga cabinets are like this today as well. I prefer the old slow version myself... seems more challenging to me that way. Anyway, you can access this cheat in MAME through the TAB menu, you just have to turn the speedup cheat to on instead of off.
-
I like the fast versions of the Pac games, it makes for a longer game, and makes it easier to get to those more frantic later stages where the ghosts stop turning blue and the maze vanishes and stuff.
Expect for sped up Junior Pac-Man. It is fun at first, but it is INSANELY easy. Huge maze, combined with Pac-Man being faster than the ghosts means that games last forever.
Speed up Pac-Man Plus is one sweet game.

oh, i thought that was just a cheat. well, my high is now improving, i'll post it tomorrow. i love haveing off from school! i can play ms. pacman ALL DAY!!! ;D

It's funny, around here, in Shreveport, LA, the only MsPacMan machines I've played, and my mom as well, where the ones that had the "Speedup MsPacMan, not Ghosts" hack. If you just turn on the speed hack in the normal machine, everything just goes fast. I wonder why they are ALL like that around here. Even all the way to monroe, the whole state across.

They are all like that EVERYWHERE. I have never encountered a standard speed ms. pac on location, nor have I ever seen the speed up Ms Pac AND ghosts one (I think that is just a mame thing).

ok, said i'd post mine today, so as of right now it's 69950. am now going to try and beat that.

Ah! I knew I wasen't crazy! I just played the Namco all in one stick that hooks up to your tv and it played real slow, so I thought thats how they were in most of the arcades.

Even the new reunion machines by Namco have the speedup hack, but it has continue so that game is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
