Is there such a thing as a Mame only Front End?
I am trying to select a front end for my cabinet (although mame32 is working great ;)- I'm ready to move on).
Installed Mamewah and after an hour or two and changing some of the ini files have that basically running (I still can't figure out how to get the art work displayed in the main screen) but it sure seems to be overly complicated for what I want - a mame only front end.
I'm going to try Kymaera next and see how that goes. I would assume, however, that there is a mame only front end out there someplace.

There are plenty, many linked from the main page at MameWorld...
But most of them are not overly cabinet-friendly.

I thought most where mame only.. until you install another. IE, it assumes mame... and as a bonus you can install others... but mame will be with default settings.
I haven't tried others for a bit... but if you have your mame directory in c:\emul\mame you can install JFront without changing a setting... and no ini files.
Of course, JFront is really old, and the new version is very very different... And as soon as I get it almost ready... I add more features or have real life stuff come up...

Best MAME only front end would have to be ArcadeFX. But I am a bit partial. ;)

MAME 32 ;)
Just go with one of the "real" front ends. You already have the attention of some of the authors to answer your questions. Pick one that can do what you want and then stick with it. Search the forum and ask about what you can't find.
