I would guess that it ends as it sits right now, as it has been just two guys who have brought on this incredible price.  I bet the guy who has been outbid has had time to think about it and is just greatful the other guy went higher.  But then again it could keep going up if these two are as committed to winning it as they have shown so far.

That's one expensive joystick...  Must be one of those things that falls into the "what do you get for an arcade guy who has everything?" category.

On a side note, I wonder how he's shipping it for only $12...  I heard these things weigh as much as two monitors and cost something like $75-85 to ship!  He must have an "in" at UPS...  :P

I have seen the entire machines sell for that price.

Ah...  Stupidity abounds.  *shrug*

Personally, I'm thankful...  If it weren't for people on eBay willing to pay too much for things, I'd spend a lot more money there.

Of course specialty controls in general are an odd market.

I bought a Hydra at an auction for $85, it didn't power up. It was a turd, but the yoke was nice, really nice.

It powered up once I actually hooked the AC power back up to the power supply though.

I sold the yoke, pedal, and an AKI to hook them up, and got $255 shipped for the combo.

I then TRADED the boardset for a populated Gorf panel (with the ever popular Midway top-fire style stick on it).

I used the monitor in my multi-williams and the JAMMA harness in my Golden Tee '99.

Eek, I am rambling now. What was I getting at? Oh yeah, games with specialty controllers are often worth way more parted out than they are as a whole.

I also believe that parting out a crappy Hydra conversion is something completely different than parting out a Tron.

Considering that plastic and metal last a LOT longer than fibreboard, it could very well be that the cabinet is dead but the parts are salvageable.

Well, I guess these guys really wanted it.  Wish I had one laying around to offer to the guy who lost out. ;)
