Title: Arcade84 and MinWah
Post by: vader on November 14, 2004, 05:43:24 am
Since I'm having so much fun with MameWah, I brainstorming now although I know this has come up already.  Is it possible to have MameWah use Arcade84 as a Screensaver when a game isn't being played  and then exit when someone presses a button ?  I doubt it is, but I'm sure hoping...I know you can start up with that, but didn't see anything else....if possible please give me details or link...

Yep of course  ;D

In your \mamewah\ini\mame.ini file, set movie_path to wherever your arcade84.mpg (& any other movies you might want to play) is (eg c:\movies).  Then set saver_type to movie.

That's it, you will probably want to set enable_music_in_screensaver to 0 too tho :)

May have just been a glitch, but I tried that earlier I believe and I just received a blank screen, I'll give it another go....

Thanks

I presume you are but could you confirm you're using v1.52?

Does it work albeit give you the error message?  Or not work either?

Yep, definitely using 1.52        It's not working at all and on occasion if I try differnt paths, I will get a internal error from mamewah.  I did at one point last nite have so it would work with a intro movie preview, but no luck in the screen saver section.  I'm gonna email you my ini's so you can see if there is anything there.

are you using the mov or mpg version? did you try a diferrent mpg just to see if the problem is with the arcade84 itself or the movie?

He got it working with the .mpg file...seemed to be an issue with where it was located (in the \mamewah folder).

I am having the same issue.  I can get it to run as an intro movie, but I only get a blank screen as a screen saver.  Could someone post the correct .ini for reference?

Thanks!

saver_type movie
movie_path c:\movies (or whatever)

That is all - vader had a problem when his movie was in the MAMEWAH root folder, although it seems to work OK for me.  Check \mamewah\mamewah.log for any error messages...

That did it!  I had 'movie_path c:\movies\arcade84.mpg' instead of just 'c:\movies'.

Thanks!
