Title: Monitor dimness problem, can I replace the chassis with a different one?
Post by: sfetaz on November 12, 2004, 07:13:20 pm
On the DDR Machine I just got the monitor is dim.  There is no contrast control and we have tried all others with no success on making it look right.  It is a 29inch Samsung tube and a Hong Eun Chassis for 29 inch.  I do not know if I can get a cap kit for this chassis, but if that does not work, is it possible to purchase a different chassis for a different 29 inch monitor and use that with the Samsung tube, or is that ever possible?

And if a specific cap kit cannot be found is there a way to get all the capacitors needed or a list of them without writing everyone down on a piece of paper since we may miss some?

You have a Wells-Gardner monitor. I don't remember the specific model that DDR uses, though.

How would you know if this is Well Gardner if the chassis says Hong Eun and the tube says samsung?  Also usually DDR machines default to Toshiba but this was a korean machine and also may have a replacement monitor already, I am unsure of that though.

Sounds like you have a Wells-Gardner Korea monitor made at Wells' Korean plant.
