Post by: creatine28 on September 20, 2002, 05:17:54 pm
Anyone know how to power down a Compaq 5BW130 computer via Dos?   I'm trying to shut down my computer when I exit Arcade os.

Thanks!

I'm able to shut down the computer with the power button, but I've just been trying to figure out how to do it through a command, so when I exit Arcadeos, it just turns everything off.  Thanks for help though!  I'll let everyone know if I can get it working!

Use the program like the previous post links to, place it in a folder on your c: and then add the line to your autoexec.bat file right after your ArcadeOS line.

For example
CD ArcadeOS
ArcadeOS

CD DOSPower
power

This means it should run once you have exited out of ArcadeOS.

I think this might work....

Copy from windows the file win.com and place it in your c:\ directory. Then put this in a batch file: "c:\win /z" and give it a whirl...
