Title: LED Marquee Lighting
Post by: rdagger on November 09, 2004, 12:36:23 pm
I've read the posts and most people recommend fluorescent for lighting the marquee.  However, I was wondering if anyone had any luck using white LED's.   A local car shop sells 18" super bright white LED tubes for around $10.  I was hoping to avoid another plug in my cab and I've found fluorescent bulbs can buzz and create interference.

Also I saw a few posts regarding white cold cathodes.  Anyone running cold cathodes to light a marquee?  Computer mod shops are now selling these for under $10.

I suppose you could use just about anything i use flurescent lighting and stayed with it  because i could take the cover off or put it on or turn it around. That might sound stupid but you want you marquess to look perfect (as fas as brightness)  Only paid $8.00

Yeah, I thought about Super bright's too, but on reflection I'm gonna go with a fluorescent tube as I reckon you'll get a more uniform/consistent spread of light.  They are so cheap too.
