If you have played the game through yet you will already know. H3. So, how long till its comes out.. another 2-3 years from now? will it even be on the xbox 1 counsle????

According to rumor Gates will be unveiling the Xbox 2 at CES in Las Vegas with a launch date of XMAS 2005. I think that Halo 3 will be a launch title for it. If not, it will be launched a few months after.
All of that will be revealed on Jan 5, 2005

WHAT? THEY'RE GONNA MAKE A HALO 3?? OMG! hehe, just kidding. Not really much of a spoiler - you gotta expect they're gonna do sequels from now to infinity, or until they make a crappy one or two and popularity dies out.
-
... a crappy one or two? I don't know how the first one got so popular to begin with. It was slow, had very few weapons, and... well, that's about it. I mean, it looked nice, but the aliens looked like Pixar movie rejects, all cute and cuddly. One multiplayer map was sort of neat, but that's all! Why don't people swear by Timesplitters 2 the way XBox fanboys dig on Halo? Hell, they even released the second Timesplitters for the XBox after awhile. Has the mediocrity of the stupid game just been hard-wired into these peoples' skulls?
-
bungie said that H3 is not in production yet....but i think they are full of it

I never got into Timesplitters that much - the controls just didn't feel right to me (though I have the PS2 version...) I did love how much it had to unlock and everthing tho - unparallelled variety.
As far as Halo goes - it just FEELS right; it's got that certain subtlety to it that makes it a blast to play. And you gotta love sticky-bombing those little ---daisies--- and seeing them run off in terror.

The reason why Halo becaome so popular is that it was the first console game you could play against 15 other poeple.
I really liked Timesplitters 2. It has a much better story mode than Halo and you get tons more etras to unlock. It's downfall was no system link play.
The next Timesplitters will be awesome though.

SOCOM or SOCOM 2 allows for battles against 15 others.

I know, but wasn't Halo out before SOCOM?? I believe it was the 1st game to offer such a multiplayer experience.

timesplitters 2 is better than any halo
BUT
halo / timesplitters / any console fps is nothing that I haven't seen on the pc 5 years ago...
bleh consoles aren't made for fps they are made for rpgs (not online rpgs) platformers and shooters...
-
The reason why it is so popular is that it incorporated:
1. good solo game
2. great multiplayer game
3. vehicles
4. great graphics
5. great soundtrack
6. co-op play
7. good AI (not nearly as scripted as most games)
8. a cool hero
9. nothing else worth playing on xbox
10. *
* - I tried really hard to make a top ten list, but could only come up with 9. bah!

10- Marketing

I only played Halo a few months ago and found it quite good. Was probably one of the few games that really had me captivated hours on end. Something to do with the soundtrack, ringworld, storyline, etc.
Sounds like I should try Timesplitters too.
I can't wait for Halo II to come out on the PC...

I love Timesplitters 2 - found the xbox version better than the PS2 but maybe it's because I'm used to the controls. It did have system link as we had 2 xboxes with 4 players each having various matches.
