Is there a way, using some program or within mame, to reverse/mirror image the menu on mame?
I wanted to work on a cab similar to this - http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/memberpage/211368/10. I want to make a cab with the monitor mounted laying down like a T2 or Beastbusters.
But I don't want the menu or windows to be reversed, I want the monitor to run in mirror image . I don't really care about the startup/dos screens. But I'd like the OS to reverse the images.
Can you flip the yoke to do this or is there a shareware program that can do this without compromizing speed?

You can reverse the x axis of the monitor by exchanging the green and yellow wires (or is it the blue and red ones? I'm pretty sure it's g&y...) anyways there should be a grouping of 4 wires (red blue green and yellow) inside the monitor in some cases you can just reverse one of the plugs if of course there are two sepearate ones but if you can't it's as easy as snipping em and re-attaching them in the oposite configuration!
You realy don't need to wory too much about screwing anything up with them or getting injured as long as you stay away from the suction cup thing on the top of the tube.

I'm not sure what you mean, but Mame has build in support for flipping the axes of the image. It sounds like you might want only the game to be reversed but not your menu or Windows? If so, you can just do it by setting the flipx or flipy in mame.cfg.
I would advise against using a mirror though. All it does is makes the monitor image further from your eye, and thus smaller and harder to see. It doesn't really serve any practical purpose in a Mame cab, that I can think of.

no. he means everything needs to be reversed, not just the game otherwise the game is fine but the menu is reversed. it sounds like crashwgs suggestion is the answer. its something ill bear in mind if i ever do this. you learn so much here :)

I wasn't sure what you were trying to achieve. But now that that's clear...
Yeah, his suggestion is correct, you can flip the x and/or y on any CRT the same way. Bob Robert's site explains it in detail IIRC, if you end up needing to do that. I've heard of people wiring this up with a swtich in Jamma cabinets, because there are some games that display the image the reverse of most other games.
