Bit of an old topic that I raised a long time ago... was recently inspired again.
I have been trying to find out as to how complex it would be to interface with a computer a Pinball's Dot Matrix Display as a marque, instructions, time played etc.
Ie. How to output to it.
Last time I raised this topic it was suggested I visit the vpinmame forum... recently had a look again and couldn't find anything. Did a quick google with no luck.
So I am hoping that the answer may be really obvious... that maybe the interface is similar to setting up and outputing to an LCD screen like what someone did a while ago with the player instructions. (Sorry poor memory with names)
Any ideas? It would make an interesting and informative marque alternative.

Vishay/Dale is the current manufacturer of pinball dot matrix score displays. I believe they have a computer interface you can buy for these displays.

Wouldn't the +100/-100 power supply be a problem using these?
You can buy led signs the same size for less.
(Red instead of orange.)
I found this one thats pc controlable.

Cheers for the replies guys. They are nice but not exactly what I am looking for.
Its just that there are a couple of Pinball DMDs going for a good price right now. So there is some interest to figure out how to interface one and be able to output different things.
Any idea?

I am interested as well in this idea. I am planning a dedicated Visual Pinmame cabinet and would like to output the dot matrix display from pinmame to an actual DM display.
