Title: any1 run killer instinct 2 ok with sempron 2800+
Post by: tnanh on November 08, 2004, 12:11:44 am
Just wanted to know if anyone have killer instinct 2 running on a sempron 2800+ ok? I am using a Sempron 2500+ and it's kind of slow, was thinking of upgrading to 2800+.  I also have an Intel 2.8, and it run KI2 pretty smooth, just wanted to know if 2800+ AMD works, if not, I'll just get another Intel and whimp a little.

What's the rest of your setup like? Version of Mame?  Video card?  Operating system?

I've got WinXP with an Athlon XP 2400+ and I can run full frame, nearly 100% of the time.  Don't know why you'd be having problems, unless there's a bottleneck somewhere...

Before upgrading have a play with some mame settings - check what resolution mame is choosing for ki2 etc... and maybe force a lower res, decrease accuaracy of sound emulation etc..etc... Often the sppedup gains outweigh any quality losses.....

... and on the recommendation, I can tell you running KI2 thru the arcadevga at native res I could mostly get full frames on a Intel 2.4Ghz B chip, though when it did drop it would go to 55/60 frames for a few seconds.  On the 3.0Ghz B chip, its never dropped a frame.
