Title: Command Line IPAC Settings
Post by: chrisindfw on November 07, 2004, 12:36:15 pm
Is there a way, perhaps using the command line, to load the IPAC config file?

I have different controls I need for different emulators. I know I can change the controls in the emulators but I am assigning other keys. Just wondering if there is a way to load the config file?

Thanks

Yes, you can simply run the WinIPAC program from a command line or batch file ie
Winipac.exe myconfig.ipc
It will download the specified file to the board and then the dialog box will close.

MAMEWAH can use WinIPAC to program the IPAC previous to / after launching emulators / PC apps.

Next release will be able to turn on/off the keyboard LED's ;)

Hey MinWah, any chance that the pop-up dialog could be integrated into Mamewah? It is kind of ugly, and takes away from the arcade experience. Other than that, the IPC support is AWESOME.

Thanks, Fred.

I would not want to hide it completely, since it is useful to see what it's doing, but more like integrating it more to the frontend. Another thing that is hard to get used to is not touching anything while the ipac programs. Manthat drives me nuts!

Unfortunately I don't think I can hide that dialog box - WinIPAC takes over when it is launched.  There's nothing I can do about it, unless the WinIPAC author were to add a commandline switch (eg -nodialog).  I'm assuming it doesn't already have that function but I haven't used the latest version...
