Title: keyboard encoders
Post by: datac0re on November 05, 2004, 07:07:32 pm
Hi everyone, I'm getting ready to start buying things for my MAME cab, and this is my first foray into this stuff, so I was looking to get some opinions on keyboard encoders. Basically I don't want to pay a ton for one, and so far it looks like 2 popular ones seem to be the Ipac2 and the KeyWiz Max.

I'd like some opinions from people who have either on the quality and ease of use.

My cab has 2 8-way joysticks, 5 buttons per player (Mortal Kombat layout), and "player 1" and "player 2" buttons, for a total of 28 buttons.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!
-Brian

8 way joystick still only uses 4 inputs each.
So the total of your inputs used is 20.
Don't forget inputs like coin, pause, esc.
If you don't plan on using the "shift" key
