Kymaera is still in the transitional phase of moving to an open source application. As such, things are in a state of disarray.
Kymaera 2.0 for Windows from the sourceforge site (http://www.sf.net/projects/kymaera) is definitely useable, but make sure you download the 2.0 Windows (http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=274687) and the Kymaera Config 2.0 Patch (http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=274738).
Steve (PacManFan) in addition to transition to sourceforge, is still working on updating Kymaera to make the users happy. He's posted that he's very close to releasing an update to even this 2.0, at which time I suspect things will start to even out.
Right now, for example, if you want the DOS version you need to download the code (http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=274695), jump through lots of hoops, say a couple prayers and hope that it all compiles fine for you. Steve has been working through these issues and an official DOS build should be available soon..
Keep in mind that I'm just a user like yourself and I don't want to speak for Steve (PacManFan). Standard disclamer applies*. :)
If you're just going to get started with Kymaera now, I'd wait a couple days... Things should be a little smoother by then.

JOYMONKEY told me about DOS version of kymaera is available but it is in a bug test.
i dont remember that post any more.
i think both DOS/WINDOWS kymaera 2.0 will be available for download at www.pacmanfan.com when Mr.Steve make them more accurate and relieable.
