Title: OK...Do I Really Need Analog+?
Post by: MKChamp on November 05, 2004, 04:27:35 pm
Long time reader...first time poster...

I've search and read and can't quit tell if I need Analog+ for dual lightguns or not. I'm running Windows 98 and have the latest version of MAME(.88). I plan on getting the latest Act Lab guns when they come out. I've done ALOT of addtional coding to MAME and compiled so if I can get full dual light gun support I would prefer to use it rather than Analog+.
Let me apologize if this has been clearly answered before. Everything I read was fairly hazy.

Well, from my own experience, the only way to get the reload function to work correctly is with analog's help...I compile my own build for use in my cabs, and i just add in the analog diff into mine.

I only have 1 gun atm, so i'm not sure on the use of 2.. but i know the offscreen reload sucks without the analog changes.

Does MAME plan on adding this support in the official release? Wouldn't this be considered a valid addition?

No idea.. But after the 1st person who played with the lightgun said "wtf" when they tried to reload, I wasn't gonna wait :)

if you've compiled mame before, it's and easy addition.
