Gentlemen,
I have given up waiting to find a Star wars yoke on eBay and have decided to replicate the original! To do this I am looking for a little help for the last few items:
1. I need to have access in the UK to an original yoke to measure the, Steering Assembly frame, Handle Assembly frame and cover.
2. Access to an original Modified bearing that was used on the Steering and Handle assemblies 040243-01
3. Access to a Handle Torsion Spring 040246-01 or a source for these.
4. A source for the 0.750 inch retaining clip 178012-001 or a similar clip.
Many Thanks in advance

here's a how to:
http://www.arcadecontrols.com/hosted/yoke/
should give you some ideas anyway. myself i would make it look more 'genuine' ie: no sign of any wood etc but thats just minor details

Danny,
Thanks for the link and I have checked it out.
I have decided to build a 100% repro. I have 95% of the parts but just need some exact measurements of the metal assemblies, together with a bearing and a spring then I am in business to replicate all the original parts.

Incidentally what are you using/soucing for the gears?

A friend supplied me with a set of 14 / 28 / 60 teeth NOS spur gears

Ah handy... I'm trying to get my hands on some - hopefully have some coming soon, but finding them hard to come by......

Thanks,
I now have the spring and retainer clips just looking for someone in the UK to give me an hour of their time so that I can measure an orignal yoke so that I can make the Steering Assembly frame, Handle Assembly frame, cover and modified bearing.
Many Thanks

Which of the three gears are you after? I will probably make some sets out of delrin amd Ali which will last longer than the orignals

Mainly the outer 2 gears (outside the main enclosure) I've got the NOS part numbers written somewhere. Need to open it up and check inside too....

If you need a full yoke, check this thread:

Appreciated... although that pile of goodies got snatched up pretty fast!
Anyone know the microswitches used inside the yoke handles? Joystick standard ones are clearly too big....
