Title: arcadevga ate my login
Post by: paigeoliver on November 03, 2004, 09:40:14 am
Ok, just installed arcadevga on a windows xp based computer. It was working good. Used it a few times, etc.

I switched it to 640x288 resolution, now when I boot it I am brought to the login screen but without any accounts to choose from!

What in the world am I supposed to do now?

Press ctrl-alt-del.

Then login as adminstrator.

Later,

Windows XP will autologon as long as there is only one account.  Once you logon as Administrator, open the user manager and check to see if a new account has been created that cannot be interactively logged on.  For example, installing .NET framework will add a new account.

You could also use tweakxp to autologon if necessary.

booting into safe mode will show the login prompt, with your default acount name most likely showing.  Not sure if ctrl-alt-del works at the welcome screen is enabled in the user account control panel options...

That should get atleast get you in to fix things up.
