Title: Lazarus
Post by: Magnet_Eye on September 17, 2002, 09:46:12 pm
I am once again trying to get this FE working. Problem  I am having is no screenshots. I have my gamelist, but that's all. I set the Primary Artwork correctly. I don't see any cfg options for snaps, marquees, etc...

Anyone have an idea why I am not getting images?

TIA!

Read the manual it's all in there. :)

yeah, i did. according to the manual i need to only set the primary artwork path. mine is d:\mame.

I set this, but it does not find any artwork/flyer/marquee/snaps at all. Even though they are there.  :'(

Can't seem to figure out why.

Well you need to make sure your artwork is unzipped.. the folders are named correctly and you have ran the runme.bat.  Also although it shouldn't make a difference make sure there aren't any spaces between the '=' and the path and also cap off that dir with a '\' so that it's d:\mame\.  If that dosen't ifxit then i don't know... i do know that if it was a glitch you would get a nice error message as I put in some simple error handleing this time around.

Yeah, i ran runme.bat when i first installed it. Yes the images are all unzipped, and in .png format. Yes the folders are all named correctly: i.e., artwork, flyers, marquees, snap, etc.

No, theres no space around the = sign. It all looks how it should be.

So...I don't know what the heck is going on. It's just plain weird.  :'(

Sucks, cause I have a skin I did, but i can't finalize it without seeing the images/marquees/etc. first.  :(

Before I installed Lazarus I used Mame32 and had my artwork in the Mame32 folder. All I did when I editied dirs.ini was to put "D:\Arcade\Mame32\" and when i ran it all the artwork was there.

What about your dat file.... Is it a copy of the listinfo?

If not then make sure the name in the header is "MAME"

put that extra slash in like I said...
I just tired it... if you put in d:\mame it won't work... it only works if you put in d:\mame\

i know you said you did but go back and check

Well I would take the whole thing and copy over to another system... register the dlls and see if it works on it.  I can confirm that it works on 98, 98se 2000, Me! and Xp home pro and corporate. (I've tested each of these personally)  One or two people had to format their machines before it would work properly.  I have no clue why, I'm guessing their cabs os hadn't been installed in quite a while.  It did work for them afterwards though, not that I'm reccomending you do that.

I am running Win98 SE. I recently re-installed my OS, and it is up-to-date. I have tried re-installing and setting up Lazarus, but still can't see any images. It's pretty strange.

I will try setting it up on my roomates PC and see what happens there. He is running Win ME though.

Anyway, I have alrady spent many hours trying to get it working correctly. This will be the last attempt. Then I give up.  :'(
