Title: catver and mamewah filtering
Post by: papaschtroumpf on October 30, 2004, 11:42:59 pm
I have games in my rom set that are of category Quiz/Japanese (I know that because I show the catver category in my layout).

I would like to filter those out of my list of games, but there is no such category when I go in the category filter in mamewah, I only have 2 Quiz categories (I think Quiz and Quiz/Puzzle).

I'm guessing that this is due to the bug in the original 1.52 where catver filters where broken and I coipies the FTR file from a backup of a previous instlalation which was MAME 0.74 based.

How do I fix it so that mamewah has the right set of catver filters?

Try refreshing the list (& make sure you have the fixed 1.52 from the MAMEWAH board).

Yes I have been running the fixed versiobn since the day you released it.

If refreshing the list measn generating it agian, yes I had done that already. It's like the list of category in the filters doesn't match thelist of categories in catver.ini

I tried removing the FTR files thinking that maybe mamewah woulld rebuild them, but now I don't have any filters in the "generate filtered list" menu.

Should I re-install mamewah 1.51 on another computer and see if it would re-generate the FTR files then copy those over to my arade cabinet running 1.52?

The FTR files should be generated when you refresh the list (works for me)...try deleting your existing FTR files and the generate the list again.  Failing that delete the contents of the \files folder and generate the list - this should work for sure.

The key was refreshing the "All Games" list, not the filtered list.
Maybe that's what you were saying all along but I hadn't understood it that way.
Works now.
Thanks
