Title: Mame and console cabinet
Post by: blackwolf on October 29, 2004, 02:18:21 pm
I have been checking out the web site and I did nto notice any one having a console added to there arcade. I want to build one but I want to be able to add my Xbox PS2 and dreamcast working along with my mame and NRX collection. I just need a design that could allow me to have all the consoles housed under one cabinet. I have an Idea of how i will get the controls and the wiring.

Console and computer setup

I am going to get the dual X-Arcade controller with all the converters for the systems. Then I will get a Video card that have a video port and connect it to a multi console changer. I will also get a cable that can convert the computers audio  output to audio/ video similar to the wire form the console. they all will be connected to a flat screan TV.

I included my XBox steering wheel and brake/gas pedals as part of my driving cabinet.   I did what I think you are saying you are going to do.   I ran the audio and video from my computer into a video/audio selector box and then I also connected the audio and video from my xbox into the same video/audio selector box.  Then if I select "1" on the box, I can play computer games (ie: mame) and selecting "2" will allow me to play my Xbox console.

You can see the Xbox console in my cabinet at:
