Hi,
I want to use a processor like Athlon XP 2100+ with my motherboard. This motherboard support 266MHz of Front Side Bus DDR transfer. Athlon XP also runs at 266MHz. But this mobo only have DIMM slots of ram memory (running at 133MHz).
So, I think that I would have a drop in performance, right ? But this drop would affect tasks like playing emulators ?
Thanks.

I think that's enough for your emulator needs. I don't think it won't make such a difference. ..

agreed, the speed pf the memory will not mean much. Now the size is a different story, for example, using 512mb memory will help your load times on larger games compared to loading with only 128mb. May be minimal wait to some, but you can see the difference.

Is your motherboard a KT7A-Raid by any chance?

No...it

I'd check to see if it's a v1.0 board. Then you can step up the processor a little.
That memory should be fine but if you want some more performance, Mushkin has a 512mb stick for $113. It will allow more aggressive memory timings (if allowed with that bios).
