Title: WTB: Monroe Electronics Joystick
Post by: Karman on October 29, 2004, 09:43:44 am
It took me forever to track one down for my Time Pilot, and now I've picked up a Gyruss that needs one.  If anyone has one available, let me know.

I have one! The joystick has a black ball top. It has a thick slightly rusted shaft and leaf switches. I recived this from paigeoliver but havent used it. If you want pictures I will send them.

Oh, in that case I DON'T have two of them like I thought I did.

Anyway, Karman, that one will be fine, it just needs to be soaked in oil for a week.

are time plt and gyruss the only games the monroe joysticks were used in. I got one for free from soneone off this board, and was always wondering what game it was from.

the joystick just feels different then any others i have ever used. i dont have it handy to describe why, but it just does. could also be because mine is kind of rusty

The only other game I've ever seen mentioned in connection with a Monroe is Pooyan:

But I'm not sure if dude put one in there because Pooyan came with one, or he just wanted one.

They feel different because they pivot on a metal ball instead of pivoting on a grommet (like a Wico or Pac stick), or on a plastic cone (like on a Happ stick).  There are some great pictures and lots of Monroe info here: http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=21572 (http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=21572)

man, looking at the new joystick and looking at mine ( Dug through a box to find it ) i realy can see how beat mine is....   mine has had a hole drilled in the ball and a lock pin put through...

when i originaly got it i though it was some custom joystick or something because i couldnt find any info on it on google

thanx for that link and those pics, i think i will devote a page on my website to the monroe joystick.
