I have a ps2/usb trackball and I'm ordering the oscar spinner with USB connector kit.
Is that all I need to have a cp with a trackball that works for trackball games and a spinner that works with spinner games? I guess I'm a little confused in that the pc recognizes both as a mouse, right? So do I need any optipac or anything to get the 2 mice to be recognized at the same time (note: I don't plan on using them both at the same time, just want them both recognized so I could use 1 or the other for the appropriate games).
as long as I have the USB connector for both, I can plug both into usb ports and everything will work ok?

That's how I set mine up and it works fine.

Yes, it will work.
I have a ps/2 track ball and my spinner is hacked through a serial mouse.
The only small drawback is that they willl both be active at the same time, which means someone could screw up your game of Missile command by spinning the spinner.

I wired both my spinner and trackball to the Opti-Pac.
It takes a few seconds to sense the control when you switch to another. Something like a five second delay. Definately ensures someone can't screw up your game of Missile Command :)

yes, that is the good thing about advancemame though, up to 4 seperate mice in linux and two in dos. I have a toddler and he will play with the other controls why you are playing. I believe analog mame may support multiple seperate mice also?
