Title: Custom Happ Joysticks
Post by: PCC on September 16, 2002, 01:20:50 pm
You can use either Competition knobs or Super knobs on Happ Tulip, Supers, and Competition joysticks.  The 4-Way Tulip base is a true 4-way joystick with a diamond shaped restrictor plate.

You can have a choice of knob style (and for competition knobs - the choice of red, blue, green, yellow, or black).

Note: Competition knobs on a Super or Tulip base require the Tulip actuator (white Tulip actuator not the black Super hourglass actuator).

As pictured:
CB/CK  CB/SK  TB/CK
SB/SK  Sb/CK  TB/SK

KEY:
CB = Competition Base
CK = Competition Knob
SB = Super Base
SK = Super Knob (with long sleeve)
TB = Tulip Base

That's pretty cool,

But can I ask a dumb question.  Are you posting this for informational purposes only, or are you offering custom happs for sale (or is happs?)?

Either way, just wondering.

Thanks for figuring this out and documenting it!

Other part#s -
Super sleeve kit: 50-6087-00
Tulip washer disc: 96-1016-00

If you want a Super Knob on a Competition base, you'll also need a long sleeve (Super sleeve kit).

For Tulip 4-ways, I've found that if you trim a washer disc to fit inside the Tulip's base (placed between the z-stop and restrictor plate) it will prevent the Tulip's z-stop from catching on its own restrictor plate (which I've found to be a problem).  See: http://pccab.net/4way.htm (http://pccab.net/4way.htm)
