Title: Probably stupid question bout Mame versions...
Post by: tshizzle.com on October 26, 2004, 08:29:04 pm
Currently Im running .86 pentium pro (mamepp.exe)

Didnt even dawn on me for whatever reason when I was copying the setup of Mamewah , roms, etc over to my Cabinet PC, that my desktop = Pent4, and the cabinet = AMD 1800.

Question being, is it really Pentium optimized, or just i686 optimized?  As in, am I better off running standard mame on the amd, or the mamepp.exe version?

Nope, that's the one you want to use... Unless you modify the makefile and set your own -march=athlon-xp option.
