Title: VirtuaNES - mouse appears?
Post by: stuzza on October 25, 2004, 08:25:22 pm
I've just setup VirtuaNES on my cab and have it working great except the mouse keeps appearing on the screen for about 4 seconds when a game loads.  Is there a setting to turn this off?  I've recently switched from FCEUltra on my cab cos I was getting screen tears and in VirtuaNES I got rid of this by tweaking a few settings.

The mouse appears for me too, and I haven't found a way to get rid of it, except move it out of the way :-/

<Obligatory run-on sentence rant>

  Since a front-end is designed to launch emulators, and there are a lot more emulators than there are front ends, it seems to me that this feature, along with setting an exit key (a-la generic command-line wrapper) are functions that should be moved up to the FE level.

Not that easy unfortunately :(.  For example Windows keeps wanting to show the mouse cursor (particularly when launching other apps.) - I *think* HC may have tried to address this by using an invisible cursor (?).

Having a FE look for an 'exit key' would use CPU cycles (potentially slowing down the emulator).
