This weekend I started my computer and it went to the XP installation/disc scan blue screen and started deleting/parsing files from my computer. AT first I was thinking it may be an XP update but after Windows started I noticed that my Mame folders were gone. As far as I can remember those are the only two directories that were deleted. My Mame and all of my Mame artwork is gone. The computer seems to be running fine and I've run virus scan 3 times just to make sure. The last Update was installed on Oct 14th so it shouldn't have installed this weekend.
Could I have been hacked? No other reasons I can think of? I've recently installed SP2?

Woah. Wacky! Do you have some kind of rollback software installed?

Never mind. Just realized what I typed was not only incorrect, but stupid... :P
Good luck to you, sir.

The MAME directory entries in your File Allocation Tables were probably corrupt, and then converted to files or hidden during chkdsk during bootup.
Look for hidden system folders in the root of your drive. This happened to me and I was able to recover some of my files from hidden folders in my root drive called "found.000" etc.
Good luck

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home tonight.

Yep, that's what happened. It is all there in found.000. Thanks so much for the help!
