Title: Plexi and my remote. Not perfect together?
Post by: JackTucky on October 22, 2004, 11:32:45 am
I have a TV in my cabinet, and sometimes I want to turn it off while I do maintenance from my main PC.

The remote won't work through the plexi?  I've changed the batteries.

My plexi is screwed on, so it would be a pain to test the remote without it.

The only other thing I can think of is the remote doesn't work at all.  It's brand new like the TV.

Huh?

It could be that the angle of your plexi is acting like a mirror and bouncing your infrared beam toward the ceiling.

It's also possible the your plexi may have a UV/Infrared inhibitor mixed into it when it was made which of course would block your infrared signal.

I'm thinking of drilling a hole where the sensor is.

I bought the plexi at HDepot, think they have the filtering you described?

Thanks for the reply.
