couple of questions
1) As I understand it, for filtered lists I need something like a nes-0.ini and an nes-1.ini. With the first I do a "generate list" command through mamewah and it gives me a full list of games with all the (?) etc. in it. I then select nes-1.ini and can run a "generate filtered list" on it which gives me just the game names without the special clone information, etc.
First, is that correct? Do I need both of those ini files? Or is there a way to generate the filtered list without having to first generate the regular? (I don't see a "generate filtered list" option unless I do the above). Can I remove nes-0.ini after I get the filtered list so I don't have that as a toggle option when cylcing through lists? Also, when updating the lists (lets say I found 10 new sega roms), it appears my process is to
a) delete the .lst files for both nes-0 and nes.1 files
b) regenerate the nes-0 list via "generate list" which then adds those 10 new games
c) regenerate the nes-1 list via "generate filtered list"
Is that correct, or is there another way?
2) I used good tools to rename my roms because the screenshots/boxart/etc for my other emulators were supposedly named in goodtools format (off of screenshotsarchive.com). This works great for some games as the right images show up for the gamenames. But it appears some of the images are similar to the naming that goodtools gives, but not exact. For instance I may have a Beavis&Butthead.rom and a Beavis-Butthead.png for the screenshot, which means it doesn't find the correct screenshot for the correct rom. So I have to rename these manually and there are quite a few like this (particular those games with ' in the names).
Is there an option with goodtools or some other way I can easily make sure those screenshots from screenshotarchive match my roms? Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help!

Yes, correct, and you do need both files.
Or is there a way to generate the filtered list without having to first generate the regular? (I don't see a "generate filtered list" option unless I do the above).
No you need both. All 'filtered' lists are created using the main list.
Can I remove nes-0.ini after I get the filtered list so I don't have that as a toggle option when cylcing through lists?
I am not sure, removing it will likely cause problems. But all you need to so is edit nes-0.ini and set 'cycle_list 0' - then the list will never be displayed unless you select it from the menu.
Is that correct, or is there another way?
a) no need to delete the .lst files
b) yes
c) yes
Not sure about your other q...

thanks for the fast reply. So I'll just set set 'cycle_list 0' and that will accomplish what I was looking for. Thanks.
Now, anybody with info on the 2nd item? (not even sure if this is the right forum for it?)
