Well I have pretty much finalized all my cabinet plans with the exception of the cp. I've already mocked it up and it feels good but there's always room for improvements. The buttons are closer to the top to give some wrist room and I placed them in the slanted arrangements for ergonomics like others have done. The trackball is a 2.25" happs with mounting plate and the cp is 25.5" x 8".
Any suggestions?

That is pretty much the standard layout.

stuff looks really close to the trackball..

Oh yeah, that IS a 2.25" trackball.
You MIGHT want to invert player 2's controls to keep the joystick away from the trackball.
Like I did on this cabinet that I did for a customer.

That looks ok, may I suggest having your buttons in straight lines rather than angled. You will find it much better I think.

Thanks for the replies. I know it is fairly standard but I'm glad I posted because after thinking about it I'm going to take apollo's advice and go with the straight button layout to allow more elbow room. I don't want to switch the p2 controls because I couldn't play with the joy on the right and I doubt my brother could either. I'm also curious of the p1 and p2 buttons at the top. Will there be enough wood support after I install the trackball and drill for those buttons? I'll do the redesigns and post them in a bit.
