Title: Were you happy with your BYOAC Token packing?
Post by: Santoro on October 21, 2004, 09:13:59 pm
Just a question for those people that placed BYOAC token orders - were you happy with your packing?

Halfway through we moved away from the box to the envelopes and we were wondering if the tokens in the envelopes arrived in good shape.  The only feedback I had was one person mention that the tokens were loose in the envelope.

Just want to make sure we do a good job with the MAME tokens.

Mine came in a padded envelope. As far as I can remember, there was a zip-loc bag of nickel tokens and a zip-loc bag of the brass tokens. One of the bags did have a hole in it, but no tokens got loose. Maybe you just need some heavier bags, maybe quarter coin bags?

I wonder if there are .984-sized coin wrappers out there.  .984 is 25mm... are any major foreign coins 25mm, perhaps?

mine came in a  envelop thing as well and the plastic zip lock had broken but that no big deal as the envelop was extremely well secured.I was more than happy.Either using proper banking ziplocks which are slightly thicker or to have put a quick wind of tape around bag would hace stopped breakage but i dont see why youd want to anyway.

Mine were in zip-lock bags that were wrapped in newspaper and in an envelope, and they made it to Australia no probs at all.
Only request I'd make is to wrap it in more interesting newspaper next time ;)  It's not like I have a newspaper fetish or anything.. really..

This is so funny because we actually were trying to put respectable newspapers like the Wall Street Journal in there.  We didn't think people would actually notice much, but we did this just in case.  Unfortunately we kept running out and had to use the local rag, which is admittedly really lame.   It's funny that someone actually was paying attention.

Maybe for the MAME tokens we will save the WSJ for the international folks.   :)

I personally wouldn't call the WSJ an "interesting newspaper".  :)

I suppose it's all relative.  I support the Investment Bank Trading Technology for JPMorganChase on Wall St, and the WSJ is the only paper I know besides maybe the New York Times now and then.

Certainly it is more interesting than the Courrier-News of Central NJ.   ;)

I had a zip-lock bag, wrapped in newspaper, then in the envelope.  The packing was better than I had anticipated.  No issues with mine at all.

I got an envelope. and the ziplock had broken open. At first I was not happy, but in about a second (after looking at the first token) I didnt care. The tokens were awesome.  So the packaging was fine.

My zip-locks were blown out too, but I didn't particularly care...  You could probably just roll them in newspaper.

Do a stack of however many, tip it over so it is kind of a flattened stack then wrap that tightly in newspaper and tape the flat roll closed.  There would have to be some serious jostling to break them loose in the envelope.

Might be more work.

I don't care how you wrap them, as long as they get here :)

Mine were fine as well.  A small hole in the ziplock bag, but everything seemed intact and no loose coins.  Unfortunately I could care less about the newspaper, I finally had my tokens!  ;)

Mine arrived in Australia just fine as well.  On the newspaper thing, whenever I get items from other countries in newspaper I always have a read.  Sometimes it's quite interesting but I mainly look at the advertising to see what sort of thing you folk have access to.
