Hi-
I realize I won't get much help without posting my ini files, but I'm at work and wondering if you can suggest some ways to fix my issue...
When I exit a mame game in mamewah 1.51, it takes an unusually long time to return to the mamewah menu. If I wait a long time, it'll eventually return (like 3-4 minutes). I'm using the command line windows mame v.86, have a beast of a machine (Pentium 4, gig of ram, etc) running windows XP Pro (directx9), all at 640x480 (monitor limitation). I've tried messing with the dos box settings, but it didn't help. I am not using mamewah as my windows shell - just running it like a regular app. My roms are stored outside the main Mame executable directory, and my mamewah is in a different directory also. My NES emu in mamewah returns me to mamewah quickly.
Any things that you think I can take a look at? I'll post my ini files tonight. I love the front-end, love the skins, just need to get this little kink worked out before I can use it exclusively.
thanks,
rob

Not heard of this before...you have a similar setup to me (P4, XP Home, DX9) so it should work OK...
What happens if you run MAME from a commandline? Does it take a long time to quit also?
Also can you see it doing anything while it it 'trying' to close?

I have not run mame directly from the command line without being in mamewah yet. I will do this tonight.
When it takes awhile to get back to mamewah, the screen is black. If I ctrl-alt-del and take a look at the running processes, mame is not present, nor is there a cmd or anything that looks like it is mame related (besides mamewah). I read on another post that when mamewah stops responding it is usually waiting for input from the running emu, but in this case my emu seems to have exited properly. I will troubleshoot this more tonight - thanks for the quick response.

I'm not sure what the issue was that plagued me for two nights, but last night the return to mamewah was quick after exiting a game. It could have been that I had been messing with the emu set-ups and something got hosed along the way with mamewah and it didn't clean up well. Last night, though, I had no problems. Great program. Thanks!

Who knows, glad it's ok now :)
Just try to avoid running programs in the background (inc. system tray), like virus scanners. They can cause all sorts of wierd things to happen...
