For newbies like myself, we have a shopping list of joysticks, buttons, trackball ready.
But what else should we be aware of so we can order at the same time to avoid grief and shipping cost. Things we may not be able to get at our local hardware store.
Some trackball/joysticks need mounting plates right?
Need pushbutton wrench?
Quick disconnect.
All you experience members...please share you wisdom.
These are some things I'm picking up...
HAPP ultimate joy
Ms Pacman/Mr Do joy - Need mounting plate
HAPP 2 1/2" trackball - Need mounting plate

I don't know if you are planning to buy the "USB Ready" trackball from Happ.
If you are, you can save yourself ALOT of money by using Oscar's USB mouse hack in place of the Happ USB kit.
You get the same results, except that you still have a bunch of money to buy other stuff.
I'd also swap the Ultimate for a Competition.
They are much better joysticks in the opinion of most people here, myself included.
You don't really NEED the pushbutton wrench.
How I do mine is that I screw the ring down "almost" tight, then rotate the button and ring slightly from where I want the button to be when it's tight, and then rotate just the button part (while holding the ring in place) to tighten them.

Thanks for the info.
I'll get the comp stick instead.
Do these joysticks need mounting plates and such?
The trackball is 2 1/4 one non-usb

No mounting plate for the joystick, but I would recommend buying from www.therealbobroberts.com rather than Happ. While you are there, you might want the black carriage bolts (if mounting with the bolt heads on the top) and you might want to check with him on wire and disconnects. (or buttons or the Pac Joy, etc.)
On the trackball - Ultimarc or www.wicothesource.com have better prices than Happ. (Wico is tough to deal with on shipping times sometimes).

If your going with a JPac or IPac for your keyboard encoder (you ARE going with a keyboard encoder right?) Andy sells Trackballs for cheap... And yes you need a mounting kit for trackballs (some have got around it, but it will save SO much time...
Do go with quick disconnects... If you don't, you will make your cabling a real pain in the neck, and very very unforgiving if you have to take it apart for any reason. For these, you can get them from different places, but Pearle right here at this board (buy/sell/trade board) sells them for cheap.
Yes, you mentioned what does and does not need a mounting plate. The mspacman does. GREAT joystick. I have a wico but want to change... but its hard since the wico 4way leaf switch joysticks are pretty good themself... but not as good... and I was happy with my 4ways until I tried Oscars pacman cocktail table... DAMN YOU OSCAR!

Here's a few bits and pieces I went ahead and got from Happs at the time I was ordering joys, buttons, and trackball....
Black Carriage Bolts 10-24x2 (for mounting joys)
Black Hex Nut 10-24 (same)
4" Black Speaker Grill
4" Shielded Speaker (2)
Marquee Retainer
T-Molding
You can source these from other places and perhaps save a few bucks but I chose to just toss it all on one big order from Happs at the time.
Also, I've heard nothing but good things about Bob Roberts which is also a source for genuine Happ parts.....at least joys/buttons.
Good luck on your project.

Now I'm convinced you're harassing me! Stop calling me Pearle! ;)

When you buy a cap or hat, do you retain the dangling price tag intact?

On the rare occasion I buy a cap/hat...no. Why?
