Post by: Demon-Seed on October 18, 2004, 05:11:47 pm
Hey Guys,

I got my new mboard, cpu and ram installed. It is a AMD Athlon 64 3200+, with 1 Gig DDR ram..on an ASUS mboard and I was looking for some recommendations in regards to which emulators would work best. Can anyone advise??? ie) which build of mame? which emus should I run???

I would appreciate it.

thx

You can run the latest build of MAME with that processor. Some people would say that an Athlon 64 3200+ is mega-overkill.

You have not mention here that whether u are intrested
to make it as an arcade machine or it is you PC.  :-\

As usual MAME is the best choice , ofcource the latest version of mame will provide you very attractive entertainment.

If you like to play with Mame32.

which version of mame??

I don't think there are any Athlon64 specific builds atm.  Maybe you could try the standard, Athlon, and Athlon XP builds from http://redump.emubase.de/mame.php to see which gives best performance.
