Title: My first Gut and Mame
Post by: SOAPboy on October 18, 2004, 06:45:25 am
This was the mighty CapCom bowling cab when i bought it... 25 bucks, monitor, pcb, ect..

problem was, monitor was so burnt in it wasent worth keeping in the cabinet (and it suuure made it lighter for the 3 flights of steps this bad boy had to go up), and the pcb was fryed.. all in all for 25 bucks, nice cab..

there she is.. before any work..

now mind you, this is my first hack job on a cabinet.. in fact, i already want something different.. i kinda like the cab, but i dunno, something feels odd about it..

anyways coin door one side "clean" other side uncleaned

my crappy CP layout.. which i intend on making a new one, but i was in a hurry to get the joystick in and test em..  ^_^

yay wired.. man, my wiring skills suck anymore :(

that and i used speaker wire.. sad i know, but well, i had it laying around and didnt think to use something smaller.. next time i think its going to be something a bit smaller..

now some questions..

you see that gap.. WTF do i do with that? right now i just have contact paper over it to hid and "protect" the wires.. but imo it sucks..

and the ipac.. how exactly should i "mount" that.. right now its being held in by thumb taks.. i didnt really want to screw it down in fear of snapping the board because of the solder points on the bottom, but i didnt want it to lose so it could shake around..  i WOULD however like it mounted to the cp because i like everything together..

last pic..

credit buttons.. sadly i couldnt do anything about the 2 holes in the front where the stupid bar was to hold the coin door shut or protect it or whatever these looneys think there doing..

so i filled the holes with coin buttons, was going to do side mounts, but hell theres already 2 holes there right? hehe

Can you post shots of the side view? Your coin "doors" tell me this cab might have been a real old one, or a Nintendo cab (doesn't seem to be Nintendo shaped though), that's why I'm wondering. Did you see any evidence inside of what it used to be before Capcom Bowling?
