Title: Quitting a game in Mamewah
Post by: Cirrus on October 17, 2004, 11:06:52 pm
This board is terrific for getting help with my cabinet project.  Thanks a ton.

My question this time is as follows: How do I quit a MAME game in order to return back to the Mamewah game selection list?  I am using an X-arcade dual controller, and I currently reach down through the coin door to access the "escape" key on my keyboard.  It's functional, but not ideal, I suppose.

One idea I have had is to figure out how to program the X-arcade to have a button be the escape key, or reprogram mame as such. (Not sure how to do either, not sure that I would like to do that.)

Anyway, I suspect this is a simple problem that has a simple answer.  Thanks.

When you're in a game, hit TAB, go to Input General, go to UI Cancel and change the Escape to whatever button or simultaneous buttons you want the Escape to be. Ideally, you would want buttons that won't be accidently hit during gameplay.

Will that be for just that game?  Or will that change apply to all games?

Thanks.

If you do it under Input General like stated above, will set it for All games :)

Thanks.  That clears things up.

In MAME, pressing the player 2 start button and the right pinball flipper button together exits a game.

You can also program any key to be the "Esc" key on the X-Arcade.
