OK, don't scream at me yet. I did a search, read the FAQ here and in the general MAME section, and came up empty.
Athlon 2200
Built by ati 7500
I tried to use RCA to hook up my MAME box to the TV. It looked like crap. The old TV I was using did not have s-video.
I am going out shopping soon for a TV. NOW, I see a few threads about COMPONENT video. All the pics comparing COMPONENT to SVIDEO make SVIDEO look like CRAP!
-How do I do this?
-What TV do I need?
-what video card do I need?
If this is covered somewhere in painful detail on this site, I am sorry, and I apologize now. Just send a link, or an answer!
Thank you

Would this be a "COMPONENT" video tv?

It's pretty hard to find a television these days that isn't component.
And yes, that JVC is component. I, in fact have the D303 (Older molder), and absolutely love it. Fantastic color out of the box, perfect with calibration.
Lots of info in this thread:

Not sure about component making SVideo look like crap. I don't recall any discussions with picture proof about that here in the last year, but may have missed.
Technically yes, Component should be better than SVideo, but in my experience with home DVD players at least, on good 27 and 32" sets, I can barely tell a difference betweeen SVideo and Component. I should be able to, but honestly it's tough. Between SVideo and Composite however, TONS of difference.
Again, this is being driven from a DVD player. A computer output might show off the differences even more.
The order of quality always is:
Antenna (Flat 300 ohm wire)
RF (Coax cable/cable TV)
Composite (RCA)
SVideo (mini DIN)
Component (3x RCA)
Pure RGB+Sync
Did you know at least one video game used component video outputs instead of pure RGB? GORF! (and possibly Roby Roto/Wizard of WOR since they use the same board cage set). They generate component video on board and then use a component to RGB converter off board to power the monitors. Apparently they wanted the ability to run on black and white with the Y part of the signal for some reason.

I tried an ATI 7500 and the HDTV adapter did not work with my 27 in. TV. I could never get it to sync, so I bought an ATI 9700 (DVI-I). Works fine.
Make sure you use the latest Catalyst drivers and control panel from ATI if you purchase an 8500 AIW or 9700.

HDTV adaptor? Is it something that comes with the card or did you buy it? I've got a radeon 9250 with VGA, s-vid and DVI output but my TV has component inputs and I would like to utilize them.
