Sorry i f this has been covered or is in the wrong topic area, but i could really use some help. I have come so far and refuse to give up now.
Arcade works fine with different gameboards (ie SF2)
Can get AdvanceMame to stop rolling (very delicate and fiddley, using monitor chasis controls), however game rolls. Most of my favs are cps/cps2 (ie 384x224?) so I set my monitor to roll advancemenu menu but display advanceMAME stable. This worked fine for all games at this res going back and forth from menu to mame, till i rebooted, now they both roll >:(.
In addition to this values of red, green and blue particularly blue seem a little high (chasis dials turned completely to the left).
Apart from that its going great. I have:
sf2 26" Gottlieb Cab?
Compaq Small form factor 1ghz 256mb 20gb TNT2 onboard PCI SB Live
EasyCab install (advanceMenu & AdvanceMame) NB used different Sb drivers and autoexec settings as default didn't work
J-PAC
Please help me ... this is only stage 1. Any help is greatly appreciated :-*

To stop the rolling you need to find the v-hold sweet spot - this is often easier said than done, but just use *tiny* adjustments at a time. If your monitor is old then your v-hold pot might need cleaning with electrical component cleaner.

Thanks, i saw this advice before and have tried making small adjustments. Can get 1 res ie 384x224? to display nicely. Does this mean i must adjust my monitor manually for each res mode? nb using dos (advance mame) and no arcadevga card

You need to adjust for each new mode you pick which rolls...eventually you should find the sweet spot that stops rolling in all modes. Good luck :)
