Title: happ mounting plate/trackball question
Post by: big daddy on October 13, 2004, 05:11:22 pm
I ordered the 3inch translucent trackball from happ.  I have 3/4 in control panel.  Now when I heard people talking about the mounting plate I was assuming they were talking about the seperate piece that came with the trackball itself (the small plate that sits on top of the trackball).  But after not being able to figure out how that small plate could cover any hole I cut to hide the trackball casing, I'm guessing you guys weren't referring to that.

is this mounting "kit" what your talking about when you refer to a mounting plate?

so to most accurately hide my hole I'm cutting I likely need this mounting kit in addition to the trackball and casing that I already have?  For info, here's what I have today and I'm trying to figure out how to mount it and struggling...maybe because this "kit" is what I'm lacking.

That's exactly what you need.  I don't know if there is any other way to mount it on a wood panel, except for maybe routing out the exact shape needed (and even then hardly any of the trackball would be exposed.)

i assume you got the high lip version of the golden tee TB. the spacer that came with the TB is to allow you to mount the TB so the lip is actually made to be flush with the top.

to mount it i used 55-1101-00

it was really easy to fit - just cut hole in the cp that is shapped to allow the tb to fit flush to the bottom of the plate. and drill 4 holes for the plate mounting bolts.

the tb then bolts to the plate
