Title: PSUs for classic and jamma PCBs

Can a regular PC ATX PSU be used to power arcade boards.
or do you need a PSU specific to whatever  board?

Your subject line mentions both "jamma and classic" boards, so to answer the question: You need a specific PSU.

To be more specific you have to understand what JAMMA is. It's a standard. And as far as power, it's +5 volt and +12volt (and I think there's a -5 volt too). But JAMMA only came into play around 1985. So anything older than that might have its own unique power needs.
