Title: Happs pushbutton wrench
Post by: deadmoney5 on October 12, 2004, 09:58:16 pm
So I purchase a pushbutton wrench from Happs...don't laugh..it brought my order to $25... ;)

And the thing doesn't even fit a pushbutton hex!!

Why would they make a pushbutton wrench that doesn't fit pushbuttons? ???

Are you sure you're not using the wrong side?  I have one and one side is to small to fit but the other side fits it perfectly.

I'm sure you probably did the same thing I did way back when during my initial upright project.

At that time they had two different wrench sizes and as luck would have it, I ordered the wrong one.

Never took the trouble to replace it based on freight cost.

Maybe we can start a "my wrench don't fit" club.

yep..

I just saw the 2 different wrenches...

the one I needed is called an illuminated pushbutton wrench..(obviously I didnt think that was it..since I ain't using illuminated buttons)

go figure ::)

Opps.. thats annoying...  :(
I got an order shipped from Happs last week. My pushbutton wrench works on arcade pushbuttons... There are two types (VLT and illuminated pushbutton wrench) so it is important to get the right one.
I had to double check before i bought it coz i nearly bought the other one as well.... but this is what their website says for the illuminated pushbutton wrenches
"Dual purpose... one end suitable for illuminated pushbuttons, other end is for pushbuttons with microswitch (Ultimate Pushbutton and with Horizontal Microswitch Pushbuttons)"

Maybe I'm just a noob, but what exactly do you need a wrench for? My pushbuttons have a black "nut" that you screw on the bottom to fasten the button to the CP. I don't even see where a wrench would be used.

It goes over the entire plastic nut.  It can make it easier to tighten in cramped spots.

Its basically a big socket with no handle. The End.

It would  be nice to have with all those tighly places buttons though.

Ya, what they said.

And when you're trying to entertain your 4 year old nephew you can tell him it's a pretend telescope and he can go play pirate now....
