Title: Anyone know what cabinet this is? ******************
Post by: koolmoecraig on October 12, 2004, 05:54:16 pm
Hello,

Is this an original Crazy Climber cabinet? I know they were put in quite a few different cabs.

If not, does anyone recognize the cab?

Thanks,
Craig

It does not match the Caberet cabinet in the flyer here:

But who knows...

I haven't ever seen one in a cab like that, and would suspect that it is a conversion based on the complete lack of "official" artwork, and the non-standard joysticks.
All the "official" Crazy Climber cabs had very short joysticks.

The "official" versions MOSTLY came in generic orange Taito cabs in the US.
The "deluxe" version is really nice, and has a wraparound control panel with full color graphics on it.

HERE (http://caesar.logiqx.com/html/games/cclimber.shtml) are the only cabs I've ever seen it in that I KNOW weren't conversions.
I've seen a few conversions that had blacked out graphics, etc... on them, but those aren't that common because it wasn't one of the "big" conversion games.
I have never personally seen one of the cabaret cabs linked above.
The arcades I frequented weren't big on cabarets.
They went mostly for the uprights, and had a select few environmental cabs, and sitdowns.
