Hmm... I've been "lurking" here for a while but have never posted. I've seen the many threads here and there about the 27" Eygo monitors. I also bought one on August 1st from the guy (Scott) that does the eBay auction. He told me to directly call JimRainbow and place my order. I did... he told me the monitor was untested, but I said to hell with it - send it to me! It got in to my place (well packaged, I might say) and I purchased a molex, plugged it up and it worked GREAT. The resolution is awesome... this monitor FOR the buck is the BEST!
A friend saw what I'd gotten and ALSO bought one. His works awesome as well. We paid $60, plus $120 for shipping. You can get a "tested one" for $125 + $125 shipping. We took the chance on the $60 deal - and it worked.
I'm not trying to sway anyone one way or the other...but that's two of us that've gotten very good results from this VERY CHEAP offer. BTW - 27" is incredible for MAME cabinets.
Sorry to everyone that got burned, but if you can get a good 'un - they rule.
Scott (NO, I'm not the guy that is selling them through JimRainbow)

This is the first success story I heard on the 27" eygos. That;s not a good track record then...

It took a lot of work, but I got mine as well, and it works great. I had to actually schedule the pickup via UPS myself and have them pick it up at Jim's warehouse. Scott, can you direct me to where you bought the molex from? I couldnt find one so I just soldered directly to the pins, but would like the molex if I can get it! Thanks.

Hey! Glad to hear you got a working one. I SERIOUSLY wonder if some of these people that "couldn't get it working" are clueless. If you don't get a molex and have to "solder" the wires yourself, you could get it wrong and immediately assume the picture tube is damaged, etc.
Oh-well...
I got my molex at Radio Shack... I emailed Scott (seller) and he recommended me to try RS and low and behold- they had some...
Scott
If you need any help configuring the mame software to work the best with your Eygo, email me at sub17_5k@yahoo.com. I had to work at this!

I have stated before I had no problems with mine but I do have to disagree with one thing:
"the resolution on there things rocks!"
its 640x480 that doesnt rock
If you mean the picture quality, then yeah, mame looks great on it

I purchased a tested one through his website about 9 months ago and I'm very happy. If anyone wants to offer some suggestions on setting up advance mame with this monitor I'd appreciate the help. I can't get rotated vertical games to look decent. Not filling up the entire screen like they do with mame32 and hardware stretch. I'd be happy with Mame32, but I'm dropping frames in pacman-my system is an althonxp1800 with 512 meg of ram and a matrox 16 meg g400 video card(this is for advancemame compatibility) I also have a matrox g450 with 32 meg but I still drop frames. Anyway, if anyone wants to drop me a line or send me your advmame.rc I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks-
