Does anybody out there like this commercial, at least even a little bit ? ;D
Why I am the only one that finds this ad pretty cool?
I mean ... first my Arcade flashbacks, and then a real machine inside my home, now visions of the King I grew up with ... what gives?
I'm sure there are a few of us here that remember the King .... right ? ?
-
never seen the commercial.
-
Here ya go then .... :D
Only hits a chord because I had a few BK toys from the past, and now I wish I had held onto them. :(
My wife , unfortunately .... does not remember this guy ! >:(
Or the Duke Of Doubt for that matter.
I just think it's somewhat cool, that all these little pieces of our childhood are coming back in one form or another.

Enjoy !!

...while my wife has no idea what the "Mystical Magical Burger King...he can do most anything" jingle was I was more concerned by the "tone" of the ad.
Aren't you the least bit "upset" that some dude is waking up with an apparently "alternative lifestyle" Burger King in his bed?....even worse he's apparently had a night of obviously being drugged by the "king"?
am I the only one ????
???

Yeah , I hear ya. The ad is a little troublesome, which is why a few people have raised the 'brow to me, but I mean just something about it, I don't know ... just seems sort of cool.
But yes, I would have rather seen the commercial spot feature a female than the " drugged up " dude sleeping next to the King !
-
that commercial scares me....freakin creepy
-
I'm with Hoagie. It's FOR SURE not making me hungry for BK. When I first saw the commercial I was like "wtf... wtF?... WTF is that?"
-
i think this commercial is hi-freakin'-larious ; reminds me of in college when i used to come up with fun ways to wake up my roomate (of course i did the guitar amp in the face techinique).
-
I remember the BK.
The point of an AD is to get you to remember the subject.
Waking up with the King. We can all remember that. So it worked.
But it is very disturbing.
-
What is the subliminal text here? Sleeping with a man in a red velvet fur lined cape will make you crave a big meaty Whopper in your mouth. eeeeewwww!
Really, I know this has happed to all of us at least once.
-
Yeah.....
All I can say is, if I ever wake up to the king giving me wierd looks.......Well, it isn't going to turn out very well for him. Especially if there were drugs involved.
That dude'd get whipped like Indiana Jones on a cafene high.
-
i too find this commercial freaky and un-nerving, especially when he put his hand on his knee..
i mean what are we selling here?
if i woke up with a masked man in my bed trying to grope me like cheap produce that commercial would end with a glock 19 and a homicide detective.. ;D
theres definetly some alternative lifestyle overtones going on there.. i could have bought it was an innocent oversight until the intentionally "uncomfortable" moment when the burger king tries to cop a feel..
even worse, has anyone seen the fetish over in japan where freaks have girls wear masks that look like anime characters? Its totally freaky..and this is at par with that..
this gets two thumbs down for being feakinn eerie and disturbing..
im glad to hear im not the only one who found this to be in poor taste.

i remember the king, in fact i had the stuffed character like the cartoon of him when i was a kid. But this is frickin creepy, what is real disturbing is the shiny plastic face, thats just unnerving to say the least. :-[
-
Guy in Bed: "WTF!"
Burger King: "Oh, here's a breakfast sandwich...that should make up for all the weird things I did to you while you were sleeping!"
;D ;D ;D
-
I have to agree... 'tis a very disturbing comercial. I love BK, and since I've been seeing this commercial, I haven't ate there once.
*shudder*
:-X
-
Their point is to disturb, but there are a lot of gay overtones in the commercial
like the hands touching hands.
the facial hair
Him being overly satisfied
the king offering his protein.
Just to name a few...

Looks like the king had it his way. Why would BK think this would bring them any revenue???Last I checked the majority of the world was hetro

Obviously this commercial came out before the exit polls.

The King is back! Long live the king.
Say... Did anyone else see the original "Jack's Back" commerical where Jack bombed the Jack in the Box boardroom announcing he was taking his company back? It was awesome, but way pulled
Okay...! I gotta know what we all think about an important issue...
The Burger King vs. Jack vs. Ronald McDonald vs. the unofficial Wendy's spokesman vs. Dan the Del Taco Guy in a steel cage deathmatch! Who wins?

Ugh, I don't think it would be worse if the king suddenly revelaed he was in fact the goatse man. Ack Ack Ack :-X
-
